I might have got this one right (also posted on Emerge here): "For my money, Web 3.0 is the mesh: mobile and open and peer-to-peer." Why? It's not just the One Laptop Per Child  $100 Laptop (specs) that's developing in this direction. According to In-q-tel, the CIA's investment arm, "Wireless mesh networks are increasingly being called upon by the United States' defense and intelligence communities to provide greater situational visibility resulting in more information available about the physical environment."
