Graham Attwell :: Blog :: Emerging Sounds with Tony Toole

May 18, 2007

Last week in Brussels I bumped into Tony Toole - director of the Wales e-Training network.

Seeing as I live in Pontypridd - the home of the University of Glamorgan (or Glam uni, the 'Poly that was' or the school of mines as we call it locally) who host the Training Network offices - it would have seemd remiss not to invite Tony onto the programme. I think the network is interesting, in that it is forcing the universities in Wales to develop new models of collaboration - a model I suspect that will be repeated elsewhere. Wales leads the way again!

Well - it being Friday - its time to update you on Emerging Sounds for next week. Sadly we have to throttle back a little in terms of frequency. I am travelling from the middle of next week - going to Romania and Poland for ten days. And I can't guarantee connectivity in the Transylvania. But I still hope to bring you three editions of Emerging Sounds. And the other issue is how shy you all are - you email me to tell me how much you like the programme - and then when I invite you to contribute you don't reply - I won't name names - you know who you are.

Please don't be shy.  And don't think you have to have a speech worked out in advance. All you have to do is think of the first question you want me to ask you and we'll just take it from there. Who knows - you might even have fun.

One last appeal. Is there an engineer in the house? I am thinking about a live edition of Emerging Sounds but have a few questions about the technology. I am using a Mac and am trying to work out how to tie in skype through audio hijack pro to output through Adobe Broadcaster. Oh - and I need to borrow a streaming server. Anyone got one?

Have a great weekend
