Just had a quick chat with Steven Warburton on Skype. In the course of the chat I suggested we shoud produce a regular podcast for the project and he suggested I write some quick notes on the idea.
So here we go.
I propose a regular (fortnightly / monthly podcast) in form of magazine programme.
Length - probably 35 - 45 minutes (not each issue has to be same length).
Contents:
1. Introduction to issue
2. Interview with one or more of memebers of community of practice aroudn their ideas (interviews can be done over skype)
3. Feature - thematic item of different aspects of web 2, social software, new pedagogies etc. We would need to develop list of key themes to be featured e.g.
- immersive environments
- user defined metadata
- social networking
- new patterns of collaboration in learning
- connectivism
- OERs
4. Blog of the month (featurng blog by member fo community of practice
5. Emerge project news - forthcoming events etc
6. Coverage of emerge events (multiple interviews, summaries)
7. Featured web 2 applications e.g explode, wet wiki
8. Debate on conetntious issue (using skype again)
9. Soapbox - user contributed material
Each edition should be available as whole and in componant parts. Should also be available through i-tunes. Format MP3 (MP4 better but less accessable).
What do you think. If people like the idea I am willing to lead this development.
