I am Professor of Technology Enhanced Learning at Leeds Metropolitan University. I come to learning technology from a background in human-computer interaction, with a strong emphasis on the student and staff experience and on appropriate and contextualised uses of technology.
I'm interested in the use of Web 2.0 in HE and beyond and on developing genuinely reusable artefacts to support assessment, learning and teaching. I'm involved in three Users and Innovation projects: Streamline, an e-administration project which is looking at supporting work flow associated with repository use; PLaNet, which aims to support transfer of practice through supporting the development of a pattern language focused on Web 2.0 in learning; and PERSoNA, which is exploring the use of social networking to promote the uptake of repositories.
