            <description><![CDATA[<p>The next future scenarios for mobile learning development workshop is on &quot;Mobility and Learning and Teaching in FE&quot; and will be held on the 14th January 2009. It will be a 9:30 for 10am start in the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol.</p><p>Guest Speakers:</p><p>James Clay (ILT &amp; Learning Resources Manager at Gloucestershire College). James has extensive experience of mobile learning and his vision goes beyond mobile technologies and focuses on the mobility of the learner, blurring the demarcation between formal and informal learning. His current vision for tertiary education encompasses the use of Web 2.0 technologies embedded into an institutional VLE which can be accessed through mobile technologies.</p><p>Julian Prior and Stephanie Warren ( New College, Swindon). Julian and Stephanie have been leading the Molenet project MyPodcast; Developing innovative approaches to personalised learning on the use of podcasting to support learners in FE and on work placement in a variety of subject areas.</p><p>Following the presentations we will be creating and discussing future scenarios developed using the FutureLab Building Visions cards and techniques.</p><p>Please contact david.green@bristol.ac.uk to book a place and to find out if you can apply for travel expenses.</p>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<div class="post">The next&nbsp;one day workshop in our Emerging Issues in Mobile Learning series at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol on Weds Nov 26. It will focus on future scenario development in Work and Placement Based Learning. Key speakers:&nbsp;(1) Norbert Pachler, Co-Director of the Centre of Excellence for Work-based Learning for Education Professionals at the Institute of Education who will discuss how best to try to understand the notion of mobile learning in workplace settings and introduce key issues and implications for the use of mobile devices for learning and training. (2) Paul Crow, Corporate Sales Manager of Excalibur Communications who will introduce a variety of examples where large and small companies have invested in mobile technologies to develop and support employee's skills in carrying out tasks in the workplace. <p>These will be followed by a Futures Technology Workshop aimed at scenario development comprising sessions on Imagineering, Futurefit, Modelling and, finally,&nbsp;a plenary review on Scenario Requirements.</p><p>Lunch and refreshments provided. Start 9:30 with coffee. What is their dark secret? We saw Rhona post the notes from our group - Orange - have they gone into Cyberspace? Will we be allowed into the Black magic box? Anybody got a timeline as to when? Or which wiki UIDM or Project that we use to plan?</p>]]></description>
