I am currently doing some work with an FE college .... and trying to establish whether the difference in the age/level of learners makes a difference to their expectations of, and use of, e-learning.  My experience, so far, of the academic staff is that their expectations and use are as varied as in the HE community.  Anyone have any knowledge of available data?  Data on the JISC site talks (yes, I know it should be 'talk' or a different verb altogether, but I'm a Wittgenstien man myself) about technology generally but is not very helpful in relation to e-Learning.

  1. John,

Try this NFER study. You might also get somewhere via the Scottish Baseline Study, or via the LEX studies which have in part an FE focus. Also, about 3 years ago I was involved in a DfES scoping study about elearning in FE [NB! PDF file], which did lead to a full study being undertaken, but I am not sure who did it or where it is published. Finally, if you are an ALT member of work for an ALT member organisation you could post an enquiry to the ALT members' discussion list. Usually such enquiries get good responses.
