While postgraduate students across the country will finally get some sleep again this week having handed in their neatly bound dissertations, the AWESOME project team is drawing together results from the first round of trials.
I talked to some student participants and their feedback has been rather encouraging so far. There is definitely a need for dissertation support. For some that might be the chance to blog that they have been up on Sunday at 6 am again to find some time to work - for others the chance to ask this really urgent question that came up at 3 am on a Friday night.
What I also see is the potential of Semantic Media Wiki to automatically draw knowledge together (some say ‘create’ knowledge) and on the other hand the time required to learn using it. Let’s see what role the semantics in the wiki will play for our Design students and tutors …
