Learning in Immersive World National Workshop

This October, PREVIEW and our partners within the JISC Emerge Community will be holding a National Learning in Immersive Worlds Workshop.

This is a free, one day event to be hosted at Coventry Univeristy’s Technocentre on October 23rd, 2008.

We are currently looking for people to host workshops and sessions at the real world conference, but also virtual sessions, which will be held in Second Life. For more information please see the link below:

Clinical Management Scenarios in Second Life - Virtual Testers Wanted

For the PREVIEW project we are developing a range of problem-based learning scenarios in Second Life for paramedic and clinical management students.

Over August we will be testing each of the 4 clinical management scenarios (Coventry University's part of the project) in Second Life. Each scenario test should last between 30 minutes and an hour and will involve a group of between 3 and 6 people.

The testing will take place every Tuesday in August (5th 12th 19th 26th) at 2pm on the Coventry University Island.

Augmented Reality Second Life

I am going along to a performance this week organised by a Coventry University lecturer called Joff Chafer. The performance will mix real dancers with Second Life avatars using augmented reality. From what i've seen so far it looks incredibly impressive. Watch this space for video footage of the event.
