Working closely with key stakeholders across the University, including academic and professional staff from all nine faculties and a range of central services, you will have five main roles: 1. Module leadership and membership of the programme team for SDDU’s credit-bearing courses and programmes. 2. Provision of specialist contributions to the Technologies to Support Blended Learning programme. 3. Support for Faculty and School development in learning and teaching, with a focus on technology-related learning. 4. Leading the promotion and support of University-wide e-learning and e-teaching initiatives. 5. Promotion and support of e-learning initiatives across SDDU.
With a university degree and a qualification in teaching in higher education, you will have had practical experience of teaching and assessing university students and a lead role in providing staff development in learning and teaching in higher education, particularly technology-related learning, and will have designed accompanying learning materials. You will have used learning technology, including VLEs, to support learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and will have an understanding of the issues and requirements for supporting students and staff online. Current with pedagogical principles and the UK Professional Standards Framework, you will be committed to staff and educational development and customer service. You will have highly developed presentation, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work credibly with and influence a wide range of staff. A proactive self-starter able to work in a changing and often pressured environment, you will enjoy leading and working in teams and have excellent time and project management and IT skills. A postgraduate degree or qualification, involvement in external accreditation and engagement with pedagogical research are all desirable.
