May 02, 2007

A new servce released by UCAS. From the Education Guardian (http://education.guardian.co.uk/higher/news/story/0,,2070510,00.html)

A website which allows university students to meet and talk to each other online before they start their course has been launched by the commercial arm of the university admissions service Ucas.

The yougofurther site (www.yougofurther.co.uk) also allows students to upload work, such as musical compositions or articles they have written, to show prospective employers what they are capable of.

  1. UCAS does e-portfolio: good idea. I have found students in FE like (!) the UCAS site better than dedicated e-portfolio sites. It has a clear goal focus, so its navigation and lack of personalisation are tolerated.

I have been speaking to jobs.ac.uk to see if they could build out an e-portfolio service for job-seeking university staff.
