Researcher, educator and consultant with a special interest in the digitisation of media and ephemera, collections and archives. My background is 'old skool' Art School (Hornsey). For the past two year I have been working on the University of Hull team developing the assisted take up and practical guidance materials for the JISC funded Newsfilm Online project, which launched officially on October 3rd.
I have written and teach on two digital media course for the University, one being a Web 2.0 SSC for medical students from the Hull York Medical school, and contributed of the development of the Foundation Degree in Applied Digital Media, on which I also teach.
Currently involved with a 30 month, EU funded project Edutube developing a video portal for schools, through consortium of 18 academic institutions, content providers and technical and infrastructure providers led by the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute, Athens. My task here, developing a pedagogical framework.
My specialist area of study is how digital assets and collections, can be integrated with Web 2.0 technologies to build frameworks and models for learning and learning design.
