Ian Truelove :: Blog :: The advent of an illustrious age of sculpted prims!

April 28, 2007

LindenLab have a preview of the forthcoming 'sculpted prim' on their blog:
This is a new feature that will allow much more complex shapes to be created in Second Life.
This could offer some interesting new opportunities for the sort of scientific simulations that Ken Kahn mentioned in his recent post. For us arty types, it's like someone has just announced the invention of clay, when all we've had up to now is dry gravel and spit.
I'm so excited I think I might explode.

  2. Apparently, no more rendering overheads than a hollow torus prim. They look a bit tricky to make though.
